Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Diptych) by Alwar Balasubramaniam was sold in the Boundless: India auction at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2019. The price achieved of INR 1,375,000.00 (€ 17,345.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 1,200,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alwar Balasubramaniam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gravity in December 2014 with an auction result of INR 11,025,000.00 (€ 143,950.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Diptych) von Alwar Balasubramaniam wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Boundless: India bei Sothebys in Mumbai versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 1.375.000,00 (€ 17.345,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 1.200.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alwar Balasubramaniam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gravity im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 11.025.000,00 (€ 143.950,91).
