This artwork by Zhou Tianqiu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 287,500.00 (€ 31,499.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tianqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Tianqiu erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy für HKD 287.500,00 (€ 31.499,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Tianqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 485.000,00 (€ 358.330,25).
