Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Cursive Script Calligraphy by Zhou Tianqiu. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,248.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tianqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
