Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Biographical Sketch Of Chen Zhongjian And His Wife In Regular Script by Zhou Tianqiu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 882,000.00 (€ 97,688.68). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhou Tianqiu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in September 2013 for USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Biographical Sketch Of Chen Zhongjian And His Wife In Regular Script von Zhou Tianqiu wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 882.000,00 (€ 97.688,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhou Tianqiu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im September 2013 für USD 485.000,00 (€ 358.330,25) versteigert wurde.
