The work Ink Orchids by Zhou Tianqiu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. It achieved a price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 34,289.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tianqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ink Orchids von Zhou Tianqiu wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 34.289,56) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Tianqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 485.000,00 (€ 358.330,25).
