This artwork by Zhou Tianqiu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Poem In Cursive Script sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,837.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tianqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhou Tianqiu erzielte im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script für USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.837,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Tianqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 485.000,00 (€ 358.330,25).
