Upper estimate price exceeded by 100 %.
This artwork by Zhou Tianqiu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2012. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Daylily sold for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 29,746.35) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Tianqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 485,000.00 (€ 358,330.25).
