Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Scholars Appreciating Plum Blossom by Zhou Chen for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 22,064.86). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Scenery in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 51,390,000.00 (€ 5,096,267.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Scholars Appreciating Plum Blossom von Zhou Chen für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 22.064,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhou Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit River Scenery im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 51.390.000,00 (€ 5.096.267,32).
