Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Listening to the Sound of Waterfall and Pine Trees by Zhou Chen was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in November last year. The price achieved of HKD 330,600.00 (€ 41,024.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhou Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work River Scenery in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 51,390,000.00 (€ 5,096,267.32).
