A top price for Zheng Wuchang
When the work Landscapes Inspired By Wu Wenying'S Poetry by Zheng Wuchang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 4,500,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 16,375,000.00 (€ 1,871,638.28). This high result makes Landscapes Inspired By Wu Wenying'S Poetry the most expensive artwork by Zheng Wuchang that we have observed at auctions so far.
