This artwork by Zhao Yang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work The Beginning of Winter sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,894.91) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhao Yang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roma is a Lake, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 78,000.00 (€ 79,653.26).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhao Yang erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit The Beginning of Winter für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.894,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhao Yang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roma is a Lake beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 78.000,00 (€ 79.653,26) versteigert wurde.
