This artwork by Zhao Yang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Fly to South sold for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,282.23) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhao Yang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roma is a Lake, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 78,000.00 (€ 79,653.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhao Yang erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Fly to South für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.282,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhao Yang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roma is a Lake beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 78.000,00 (€ 79.653,26) versteigert wurde.
