In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy In Xingshu by Zhang Zhidong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,767.93), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Zhidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 128,585.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu von Zhang Zhidong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.767,93) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zhidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 128.585,84).
