This artwork by Zhang Zhidong achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in November 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 26,400.00 (€ 2,935.41) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Zhidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 128,585.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Zhidong erzielte im November 2021 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 26.400,00 (€ 2.935,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zhidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 128.585,84).
