Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Su Shi'S Poem In Running Script by Zhang Zhidong was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,135.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Zhidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 128,585.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Su Shi'S Poem In Running Script von Zhang Zhidong wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.135,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Zhidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 128.585,84).
