Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Letter To Boqing by Zhang Yu. The price achieved of HKD 12,175,000.00 (€ 1,333,934.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Yu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Letter To Boqing, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 26,500,000.00 (€ 2,916,638.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Letter To Boqing von Zhang Yu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 12.175.000,00 (€ 1.333.934,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 10.000.000,00 – 15.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Letter To Boqing beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 26.500.000,00 (€ 2.916.638,05) versteigert wurde.
