Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ink Bamboos by Zhang Yu was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,143.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Yu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Letter To Boqing in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 26,500,000.00 (€ 2,916,638.05).
