Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gibbon by Zhang Yu was sold in the Delightful Pleasure-Chinese Painting and Calligraphy auction at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 5,900.00 (€ 692.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Yu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Letter To Boqing in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 26,500,000.00 (€ 2,916,638.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gibbon von Zhang Yu wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion Delightful Pleasure-Chinese Painting and Calligraphy bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 5.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 5.900,00 (€ 692,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Letter To Boqing im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 26.500.000,00 (€ 2.916.638,05).
