A top price for Zhang Yibo - as previously expected
The work Candle Obscurity by Zhang Yibo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2001. The price achieved of HKD 82,250.00 (€ 11,725.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Candle Obscurity is the most expensive artwork by Zhang Yibo that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Candle Obscurity von Zhang Yibo kam im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 82.250,00 (€ 11.725,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Candle Obscurity das teuerste Kunstwerk von Zhang Yibo, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
