Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Flowers by Zhang Xiong was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 30,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at HKD 224,200.00 (€ 25,245.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Xiong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers And Fruits, which sold at auction in March 2013 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 68,274.03).
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Flowers von Zhang Xiong im Oktober 2018 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 30.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 224.200,00 (€ 25.245,25) mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Xiong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers And Fruits beobachtet, die im März 2013 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 68.274,03) versteigert wurde.
