Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Blossoms Of Four Seasons by Zhang Xiong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,685.92). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Xiong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flowers And Fruits sold at auction in March 2013 with the realized price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 68,274.03).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Blossoms Of Four Seasons von Zhang Xiong im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.685,92) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zhang Xiong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Flowers And Fruits im März 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 68.274,03).
