This artwork by Zhang Geng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction, the work Landscape After Dong Qichang sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,317.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Geng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 767,000.00 (€ 88,642.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Geng erzielte im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal wurde die Arbeit Landscape After Dong Qichang für USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.317,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Geng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 767.000,00 (€ 88.642,72).
