Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy by Zhang Boying was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000 - 20,000, the actual price achieved of HKD 12,500 (€ 1,321) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Boying achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 560,000 (€ 48,666).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Zhang Boying wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000 – 20.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 12.500 (€ 1.321) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Boying erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 560.000 (€ 48.666).
