Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Zhang Boying was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 8,000 – 10,000, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 6,375 (€ 734). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Boying achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 560,000 (€ 48,666).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Zhang Boying im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000 – 10.000 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 6.375 (€ 734) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Boying erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 560.000 (€ 48.666).
