The work Calligraphic Couplet by Zhang Boying was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750 (€ 7,252), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhang Boying have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 560,000 (€ 48,666).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38% übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Zhang Boying wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750 (€ 7.252) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Boying auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 560.000 (€ 48.666).
