Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Zhang Boying. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000 - 5,000, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500 (€ 2,963) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Boying achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 560,000 (€ 48,666).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Zhang Boying zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000 – 5.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500 (€ 2.963) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Boying erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 560.000 (€ 48.666).
