Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Christies in New York held the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Zeng Guoquan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 20,160.00 (€ 2,371.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Zeng Guoquan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,114.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script von Zeng Guoquan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 20.160,00 (€ 2.371,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zeng Guoquan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.114,14).
