The work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script by Zeng Guoquan was worth HKD 126,500.00 (€ 14,619.69) to a buyer in April 2015. This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeng Guoquan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu sold at auction in April 2015 with the realized price of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,114.14).
