Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zeng Guofan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 116,082.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeng Guofan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy für HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 116.082,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II im April letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76).
