This artwork by Zeng Guofan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy Including Property from the Chokaido Museum Collection auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet In Running Script sold for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 57,224.86) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zeng Guofan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 1,890,000.00 (€ 228,514.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zeng Guofan erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy Including Property from the Chokaido Museum Collection wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet In Running Script für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 57.224,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zeng Guofan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 1.890.000,00 (€ 228.514,76) versteigert wurde.
