Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Fish) by Zainul Abedin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,901.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zainul Abedin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Santhal Women) in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 161,331.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Fish) von Zainul Abedin kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.901,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zainul Abedin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Santhal Women) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 161.331,96).
