Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Zainul Abedin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Boats) sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,999.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zainul Abedin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Santhal Women) in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 161,331.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zainul Abedin erzielte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Boats) für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.999,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zainul Abedin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Santhal Women) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 161.331,96).
