Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Rangamoti by Zainul Abedin. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,223.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zainul Abedin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Santhal Women) in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 161,331.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rangamoti von Zainul Abedin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.223,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zainul Abedin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Santhal Women) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 161.331,96).
