The complete book comprising two etchings in colours, 1954, on Creve-Coeur du Marais paper, with text by Jean Laude, each etching signed in pencil and numbered 22/40, further numbered XII on the justification, from the edition of thirty copies numbered in Roman numerals (the total book edition was 41), printed by Atelier 17, published by Les Presses Littéraires de France, Paris, the full sheets, contained in the original collaged paper wrappers and blue paper-covered boards, in good overall condition

It achieved a price of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,322.83), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yves Tanguy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’Extinction des espèces II in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,131,250.00 (€ 3,519,989.38).

Die Arbeit Le Grand Passage von Yves Tanguy wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.322,83) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yves Tanguy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L’Extinction des espèces II im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.131.250,00 (€ 3.519.989,38).
