Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Leftover 9 by Yuichi Hirako was worth HKD 2,142,000.00 (€ 256,687.61) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yuichi Hirako; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bark 62 sold at auction in April this year with the realized price of HKD 456,000.00 (€ 465,665.22).

Die Arbeit Leftover 9 von Yuichi Hirako war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres HKD 2.142.000,00 (€ 256.687,61) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yuichi Hirako; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Bark 62 im April diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 456.000,00 (€ 465.665,22).
