Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Yuan Jiang could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Summer Mountains changed hands for HKD 960,000.00 (€ 91,411.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yuan Jiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inspecting Food For The Emperor, which sold at auction in September 2015 for USD 382,000.00 (€ 342,232.57).
