Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work The Lowly are the Most Intelligent, the Elite are the Most Ignorant by Yu Youhan. It changed hands for a price of HKD 2,440,000.00 (€ 282,018.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yu Youhan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 1985-4 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 14,100,000.00 (€ 1,225,342.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Lowly are the Most Intelligent, the Elite are the Most Ignorant von Yu Youhan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 2.440.000,00 (€ 282.018,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Youhan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 1985-4 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.100.000,00 (€ 1.225.342,42).
