In May 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Mao & His People: Green by Yu Youhan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,320,000.00 (€ 268,149.08), 55% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yu Youhan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 1985-4 in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 14,100,000.00 (€ 1,225,342.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mao & His People: Green von Yu Youhan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.320.000,00 (€ 268.149,08) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Youhan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 1985-4 im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.100.000,00 (€ 1.225.342,42).
