Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled by Yu Chengyao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 119,639.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yu Chengyao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Magnificent Landscape in November 2008 with an auction result of HKD 5,780,000.00 (€ 587,379.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled von Yu Chengyao kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 119.639,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yu Chengyao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Magnificent Landscape im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.780.000,00 (€ 587.379,86).
