Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art, which included the work Landscape by Yu Chengyao. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,286.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yu Chengyao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Magnificent Landscape in November 2008 with an auction result of HKD 5,780,000.00 (€ 587,379.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Yu Chengyao zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.286,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yu Chengyao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Magnificent Landscape im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.780.000,00 (€ 587.379,86).
