Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cliff Standing Thousand Feet Above Ground by Yu Chengyao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,784.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yu Chengyao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Magnificent Landscape in November 2008 with an auction result of HKD 5,780,000.00 (€ 587,379.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cliff Standing Thousand Feet Above Ground von Yu Chengyao kam im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.784,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yu Chengyao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Magnificent Landscape im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.780.000,00 (€ 587.379,86).
