Sold at the upper estimate price

The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,678.33), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yousuf Karsh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fifteen Portraits in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,970.84).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Edward Steichen, 1965 von Yousuf Karsh kam im April 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.678,33) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yousuf Karsh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fifteen Portraits im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.970,84).
