A large tate-e triptych, comprising three loose sheets of Sho, Chiku, Bai (Pine, Bamboo, and Plum [Garden of the Three Friends]), each signed in pencil in Chinese characters Yoshida Toshi along the bottom margin and Toshi with seal Yoshida Toshi within the image; a limited edition and commissioned by the Franklin Gallery, Pennsylvania. Pine sheet: 55.2cm x 30.2cm (21¾in x 11 7/8); bamboo sheet: 54.4cm x 30cm (21 3/8in x 11 13/16in); plum sheet: 54cm x 30.1cm (21¼in x 11 7/8in). (3).

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Yoshida Toshi was sold in the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,467.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Other works by Yoshida Toshi have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2021 the work Five woodblock prints was auctioned for GBP 5,292.00 (€ 6,157.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Yoshida Toshi wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.467,87) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Yoshida Toshi konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2021 die Arbeit Five woodblock prints für GBP 5.292,00 (€ 6.157,36) versteigert.
