Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Yong Mun Sen could be acquired at Bonhams in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for HKD 19,125.00 (€ 2,291.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yong Mun Sen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 562,500.00 (€ 61,629.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yong Mun Sen konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 19.125,00 (€ 2.291,85) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yong Mun Sen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 61.629,44).
