Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Chen Yi could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work The Innocent Horse Whisper Has Once Again Failed To Harvest A Perfect Right Eye changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,379.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Other works by Chen Yi have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2008 by the work Kathy–The International Beauty Advocate at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,966.51).
