Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Yehiel Shemi could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Torn ships changed hands for USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,364.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yehiel Shemi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Complex, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,980.53).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Yehiel Shemi konnte im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Torn ships für USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.364,63) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yehiel Shemi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Complex beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.980,53) versteigert wurde.
