Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bathroom Sink by Yeh Tzu-Chi was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 380,000.00 – 500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 32,354.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yeh Tzu-Chi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mist, Bruwan, Hualien (Painted In 2009-2010), which sold at auction in April 2021 for HKD 1,180,000.00 (€ 126,337.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bathroom Sink von Yeh Tzu-Chi im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 380.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 32.354,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Yeh Tzu-Chi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mist, Bruwan, Hualien (Painted In 2009-2010) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für HKD 1.180.000,00 (€ 126.337,49) versteigert wurde.
