Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Self- Portrait : White Marilyn 2 by Yasumasa Morimura. The result of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 13,950.97) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yasumasa Morimura - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,770.00).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self- Portrait : White Marilyn 2 von Yasumasa Morimura zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 13.950,97) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yasumasa Morimura mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.770,00) versteigert wurde.
