This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yao Nai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Letters sold at auction in September 2015 with the realized price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,555.10).
