Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Correspondence by Yao Nai was worth HKD 300,000.00 (€ 29,750.54) to a buyer in May 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yao Nai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Letters sold at auction in September 2015 with the realized price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,555.10).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yao Nai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Letters im September 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.555,10).
